Rock 'n' Roll

Jay Jerome
Lead Vocalist

Jay received classical training in vocal performance in his early 20s. At the age of 16, he made his inaugural performance at a holiday park in the South West of England, captivating an audience of over 500 attendees. Through  the years jay has performed in theatre and different shows perfecting his skills as a performer.  In addition to his musical prowess in the realm of Rock and Roll, he also trained in salsa dancing. His musical influences include esteemed artists such as Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Michael Jackson. However, it was the impact of Shakin’ Stevens that instilled in him the belief that Rock and Roll will never die.

Simon Ford
Keyboardist, Vocalist

Simon returns to his Rock 'n' Roll roots every time he plays with Jay & The Rocking Demics. Simon's primary influence was Jerry Lee Lewis who he saw many times live on stage from 1977 - 2007. Simon also played with the Jerry Lee Lewis band in Memphis, Tenn. in the 1990s.

John Wiggins
Guitarist

John commenced his professional career at an early stage, embarking on tours across Europe, where he performed at American and British military bases, as well as various venues in Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Germany. Additionally, he showcased his talent at numerous locations throughout the United Kingdom, particularly during the summer seasons at holiday camps in the South West. After a hiatus of several years, John has resumed his musical endeavours and is now performing regularly. He takes pleasure in maintaining an active schedule, engaging with a diverse range of musical styles.

Paul Greaves
Guitarist

Paul first discovered the wonders of music from a young age. He was about 7 years old when he found, fly-tipped, his first ever vinyl record which happened to be a jazz record. He fondly remembers playing this over and over, allowing him to discover his passion for music. Some of his other early musical memories were the Beatles (on television) and when he used to listen to his uncle's old Rock 'n' Roll records.

Thinking of his history with the guitar at the age of 14 and joining a band for the first time at 15, his first musical inspirations included the likes of Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Free, Jeff Beck and Chic. Overall, he just found a passion for all types of guitar music.

Throughout his years as a musician, he has played in a variety of bands from pub rock bands and church bands to jazz and soul/funk bands. His ambition for music is certainly admired by all. He acknowledges that his guitar learning journey is never over and still continues to learn new things everyday.

Simon Burfoot
Drummer

Simon is an entirely self-taught drummer/percussionist who consistently demonstrates his incredible skill.

His love for drumming started at around the age of 7 when he would drum on absolutely anything he could get his hands on, since, at this point, he didn't have a kit of his own. Once acquiring a drum kit, he taught himself how to play by watching the likes of AC/DC. Self-teaching is not an easy feat and thus proves his talent for music.

He loved 70s Rock and Funk and now this has branched out into him having experience playing in a wide array of styles like Reggae, SKA, Funk, Psychedelic, Folk and Jazz. Furthermore, he shows admiration for music from across the globe which proves his passion for music and the presence it has in this life.

Mickey Angel
Bass Player

Bassist to the stars, Mickey Angel has played with them all. He is the Demics' answer to Joey ’The Lips’ Fagan and won’t let you forget it.

Swaying behind the beat like an elephant’s trunk, Mickey is a human metronome.

He’s promised to bring Elvis to the after-party.
